You look awfully cute Steve - that "warrior Buddha" look. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year from Finland too! I have been following your blog regularly. I am back from Dallas now and miss it so much. I had no idea I would make such good friends in US. I actually spent thanksgiving at Bill's (Rice) parents place and had really much fun. I wish best for you and for next year. Come home safe. Elina Samila your hostess from Helsinki.
Stephen,
Your dad and I wish you a very Happy and Safe New Year! Looking forward to seeing you soon.
Love, Mom and Dad
Heyyyy Stephen!!
So it's taken me long enough to post something; I've been trying to think of something original and/or profound to say, but all that really seems to come up in my mind is how proud I am to see you out there doing what you do--not to mention all the leadership and especially awesome grammatical skills you've shown us all!
We all missed you this Christmas in Charlotte, but after things went so well I'm sure there will be another chance to get everyone together--next time you'll be the guest of honor for sure. I think this time around the guest of honor had to be Carolyn for braving our family buffet line for the first time and securing a position in the living room Christmas morning amidst the craziness! :)
I have been reading your postings and love some of the pictures, particularly the landscapes. Truly seems like another world with so much we never see over here, and your stories to go with the pics make everything so much more real. Thanks so much for doing all that while you've got so much else going on.
Anyway I should wrap this up for now, but I wanted to let you know how much it means to all of us that you and your men are doing such good in the world and truly making history while so many others may seem oblivious--you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Keep those updates coming!
Happy New Year, too!
All my best,
your cousin Katie :)
Nephew' Just back from Maine. Didn't seem the same without you and your family. Big game this weedend. Hope you can see it. Looks like the gators are going to have a great recruiting class this year. Can you read the G'ville Sun over there on line? BE SAFE!!
